Little shakedown run for today

Well finally got motivated to work on my Craigslist $700 KLR that had been sitting since 2005.
Did 89 miles this morning in Morris & Somerset county.

Some quick pics

Was that you I saw on 24 near Chester around Noon going East?
I thought "that's a funny colour for a KLR".

Very cool!

On another note, you know how we taggers depend on google street view? Turns out that google was also capturing data from the houses and businesses it passed:

"The Street View case arose out of Google’s deployment of special vehicles to photograph the houses and offices lining the world’s avenues and boulevards and lanes. For several years, the company also secretly collected personal information — e-mail, medical and financial records, passwords — as it cruised by. It was data-scooping from millions of unencrypted wireless networks."

Took a little detour.

Ended up on a busy main street.

Dipped a toe in the water.

"The Origional"

Interesting side panel in the April "Adventure" issue of Cycle World by Jimmy Lewis:

He got his 2002 KTM 950 Adventure when he was the Off Road Editor. He has 100,000 miles on it, and isn't selling!

He said none in 100,000 miles, though he has the re-build kit available. My 950 has 35,000 miles now on the original water pump. We both have had to change the fuel pump though. He once, me thrice. I also replaced my regulator as per Walter's recommendation, at 30,000 miles.

During my 90,000 miles with the BMW, I've also had to replace some parts. The price you pay for keeping and riding a bike you love for 10 years.
