Putting around Belfair & Union puts you in their neighborhood. Check out Griptwisters tour , etc, too.
JBLM is , well, Tacoma. Probably more mid-sound. If ever there was a tired beach town, the city of destiny is it. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213831 |

I like old highway 99 to Tenino - or even better, 507 to, erm... Johnson Creek road around the backside of Tenino to old highway 99 then hook a left at... what's that railroad crossing "town" there... just before Centralia... BUCODA! Yeah, that's it - Bucoda. Then you head over the hills to the Steam plant, swing back up on the other side on... wait...
you ain't one o' them revenooers are you? ![]() ![]() I guess it all depends on what you're looking for - a long loop, a balls-to-the-wall low-level flight path... I kinda' prefer to get lost and putt along from place to place versus the I-5 drudgery - so when I get the opportunity to explore connecting routes that's the way I go. You can get from here to Hood River (well - when the snow level goes back up) and have a nice combination of old farm roads and gravel/dirt with just enough pavement to refill the tank. Unless you're on a 25MPH sidecar rig - but I've got room to carry extra gas. ![]() ...and yes, Felix, you're a "south sounder" now. Give it a couple years and you'll start to grow moss between your toes.

I am on JBLM and although I do not have a beard or a huge red bike I am capable of some riding on my doctor 449 (Formerly a DR-350) It runs like a fat private headed for chow but looks like one too due to a bad paint job.
Also when I first got my bike one weekend I literally rode the entire training area headed out towards Olympia just stopping, hitting dirt rodes, then back on the hard ball. Haven't had any issues so far, as long as you don't get up on the OP's. they aren't that fun to get on anyway.
