Treated it to a day out... at the DMV...
![]() ... And when I say, "day", I mean it (you know how that goes!)... Weeks of red tape and sitting around on municipal chairs [when I already had a UK bike license] just to do five figures of 8 in a suburban parking lot. ![]() I shit you not! To be fair, it's gotta be the first time they've ever had a 'n00b' roll up on a 12-foot tall KATOOM! and I'm pretty sure the 'test' called for a few more maneuvers than were performed. But the examiner [who looked like she'd never even been on a bike, let alone ridden one] figured I either knew what I was doing, or was utterly insane. ![]() Gotta love Louisiana! Anyway... Fully legit now, so onwards and upwards!

Ordered some parts over the winter and finally got a chance to get into it this weekend...
Safari Tanks Pro taper CR high bar Woody's Wheels (only put the front on so far; too much tire left to use on the stocker on the back...) Fork Revalve by SPS Finally finished (I hope!) fixing crap the dealer did wrong or incompletely on the bike's only visit to a dealer...for a reason...checked the valves, retorqued the rotor bolt ...Misc little stuff... ...and today on our first nearly-70 degree day (don't worry, it supposed to snow again next week) took her for a ride after work today. Wow. MUCH better. Why can't they come this way from the factory? Anyway... ![]() S

Tusk Hand mitts over G2 handguards. Work great to about 20* keeping the wind off.

Nice looking bike.
I've always wondered about people riding their bike to their bike test... "Ok, you successfully rode here and negotiated traffic, but your horn doesn't work and you dabbed on your 19th straight circle. Dizzy or not, you fail. Go ride home." My test consisted of riding 20 yards to the other end of the parking lot and back.

I've seen plenty of riders successfully make it to the DMV that really shouldn't be on the road.

I like the KTM Rally Replica look, so I am playing a bit during the winter time. What do you think? :-) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have few more...

![]() Try this too:
Fortunately, they have a clever system to deal with the final point: fully illegally (no endorsement, insurance or tag) ride the bike to an inspections station, get a fail sticker, then go take your test, then go back [or not] to the station to get a proper tag. For the second point, you just have to lie and not respond to a few letters from the insurance company. Then it all just falls into place... ![]() That said, focusing on scraping the pegs while performing the figure of 8s was kinda fun! ![]() In other news: K60s just arriving from CJ helped erase the memories. ![]() ![]() Pass the spoons!
