Anyone live near Racetech in Corona, CA? I'm trying to order fork shims for my XRR and Racetech is quoting me $25 to ship 10 fork shims that are the size of a quarter to my place in Burlington Ontario Canada. I know I'm being a cheap a** here but is there anyone willing to help me out?
Thanks
Mike

Did you tell them that's a stupid price for shipping?

I balked at $18 shipping for a wheel spacer from Enduro Engineering and the owner emailed me back and said I was right, shipped USPS for $6 and fixed their website to include USPS shipping.

Canadian supplier

Tried to order through a Canadian supplier and much of my order was wrong and I waited far too long to get the (wrong) parts. Don't trust the individual to get it right. Dying to get on my bike soon. I'd like to order the parts directly myself.

Questioned RT twice and they said that it would cost $25. Not trying to point the finger at Racetech btw.

Thanks for the links. Contacted both of these suppliers and neither have the correct size in stock. Would cost the same to order through them.

I am pretty close to there, but it's still gonna cost me $8 in gas to get there and back and the absolute minimum price I could see to ship on http://ircalc.usps.com/ an envelope internationally seems to be $11, priority mail starts at $23.95...

It is just expensive to ship stuff internationally, and there is also the question of duties... I can't imagine how you could possible save any loot having someone pick 'em up and send 'em for you, sorry!

Yep. I think you're right CA Stu. Thanks for giving it some thought. I'll probably just order them.

the customs form is just a PITA.

fill it out wrong and your package is stuck in neverland for a while.

I was thinking (without knowing all the potential costs) if someone lived in the immediate vicinity of Racetech they could send the shims in a regular envelope (no duty), it would be very inexpensive since the shims are tiny and light. Shipping for me would have cost $25 plus whatever duties they decide to charge at the border (which is often ridiculous). All for $14 worth of parts.

Finally found a local supplier. Thanks to those who considered helping. Learned that CA Stu is right. Shipping is just expensive.
