I was agonizing over the tire choices as well. I have decided that I am going with the 3" on the front and 4.6" on the rear. I know lots of people have ran the larger tires with no issues. But I have decided that the bike is already weak enough and I dont want to weigh it down even more and make it even slower.
And if I don't like that tire set up, I am out a whopping $75. Which is less than what it costs to put my truck on 3/4 of a tank

well I threw down today on some shinko's for both my KLX's...

Got the 3.0 4.6 combination. will see how that goes!!

Pictures and ride report due next week. Had em out for a warmup ride this week and am getting ready for a St George trip at the end of the month.

Went for a quick ride last week but didn't get all that far... Usually this road is pretty well traveled throughout the winter but since all the snow came from one storm the plow pile at the end was about 5 feet tall. I made it about a 1/4 mile before I said enough and worked my way back up the road.

Need to get out for another ride soon with the GoPros

Yeah, after we took the pressure down to 26/27PSI and put a few hundred miles on them they stopped squirming.

Aero -- what size are those shinkos? Looks like a 3.0 and 4.6, but my eye calibration may be off...

Those shinko's look great. I don't do much off pavement stuff, but when my current set runs out, i might be replacing with those. Currently, I have an Avon Pro Extreme Rain up front and a Distanzia on the rear. Real pricey, but they've never let me down for the 90% street riding that i do. how are the Shinko's on the road?

I'd place myself at the lower end of being an intermediate rider, don't really push too hard on the street and the Shinko's have been fine for me.

Thats more times than I leveled up in SKYRIM! I do remmber you dumped it though coming down a wicked hill in the woods, and you bit it on a curved road I think...and there was that tree branch or something you were trying to go over or around i think...ah well that's enough.

Nah didn't drop it going around that tree. You got the first two, third was a 2mph driveway drop stopping on ice the first winter I had the bike.

Hey guys, don't mean to hijack the thread but I found no KLX250S forum and had a quick question. I just picked up a 06 KLX250S with 1300 on the odo but noticed when running, the stock turn signals don't act as running lights. Is this normal? They all four blink but that's it. I only ask because I live in a inspection state. Can anyone help? I don't want to try to diagnose a problem that isn't a problem. Thanks

The KLX does not have running lights. You're bike is normal.
And there is a S thread called Long Term KLX Review, probably buried on page 10, since we don't have too many problems with the bike.
