I read this thread this morning and WHOA!! That's some crazy stuff! Glad everything ended well. And as far as your friend KTMSER, if he is in the LA, San Bernardino Area and needs help, I will gladly help him if I can. For someone to just drop what they're doing and come out is awesome and deserve a pay it forward. Great story.

The zip tie method would be worth a mention, makes tire mounting very easy and tube pinching nearly impossible (I learned it here in another thread)...just requires seven or so long zip ties, easy to find and to carry on the bike. Anyway here are a few photos I took though not on the trail...
