If we ride Monday, where and how long?

My kids are off for spring break so might be able to get away for awhile.

32-70

Monday's ride was a blast. 140 total miles. Up 32 to Crown Point, Doe Mill to Skyway, took Doon Grade rd. to Jordan Hill break at Sawmill Lookout. Hopped on Concow rd up to Rag Dump roughly then back down to Dixie rd. 70 to Pentz back up to Centerville and rolled home. We sure have some great scenery here.

I'm not sure of how many of you use a SPOT, but I've ridden with one every ride and really like that my wife and family feel safe with me being out, especially alone, of cell signal reach. I recently Purchased a Delorme InReach as my SPOT signal was starting to become very intermittent. The Delorme blows the SPOT away hands down. Not only in signal stability (Has way more satellites to communicate with) but it is a 2 way communicator. I can send a text to anyone I want using 160 characters and it reaches them in a couple mins. Then they can respond if needed. Just thought I'd pass some of this on as I am extremely happy with it.

That is awesome. Been thinking about a Spot but it's nice to know there is competition... I live in Redding but look forward to some rides in your neck of the woods. Great pics!

When we got to Jordan Hill staging area we were at 42 miles traveled. We opted to head down to the Fast Strip in Paradise real fast to top my buddy's 2.25 gal tank off. From there back to my house was 94 miles. We could have made it to 70 and gassed up in paradise after, or even syphoned from my tank.

Nice pic's
I will try to get motivated and post up a few pic's of my last ride,
I got a bit adventurous and it almost bit me in the unfortunately the camera doesn't show how steep things are when you are going up or down them.

Interested in this too. Which plan did you get, and where did you pick up your unit?

Matt

I got it from Amazon.com. Ships from them so its guaranteed, arrived very fast. I went with the $25 monthly fee. SPOT you pay $120 up front. Inreach is monthly. They have seasonal plans(If you only play for a few months out of the year) or a basic $10 a month plan where you pay 1.50 per text message. The $25 plan includes 40 text messages and extra texts are .50 cents per. For the amount of riding I do I knew I could use more than 15 texts a month ( the offsetting price)...I have a galaxy note 2 also that pairs with this..If you have a smart phone already then this is the best bet as it comes with really great software to compliment it. If not I found this new model yesterday coming out in early April that appears to be a complete standalone that utilizes the software.http://www.thegpsstore.com/Delorme-inReach-SE.aspx
