You'll need to shim the bar mounts, as you said, plus the clutch and front brake perches. They're all 1" while the throttle tube and left grip, with their associated controls, are 3/4". It's a little weird, but the shimming works well.

Not 3/4" but 7/8" at left and right switches and throttle.

Corbin Gunfighter?

Who here has a Corbin Gunfighter seat? What do you think of the comfort compared to the stock seat?

I just received low bars in the mail which I'll install prior to making a decision on the seat. With the tall bars and stock seat, my tailbone is right on that hard ridge in the middle of the seat. For reference, I'm 5/11", with a 33" inseam. I'm ready to toss the stock seat and bolt up a 2x4.

Anyone have a Corbin they'd like to get rid of?

I like my Corbin Gunfighter--but not everyone does. Corbin seats are really "firm"-read hard as a rock. They have a really nice sculpted shape and cradle your butt well. But the firmness may be an acquired taste . . .

I much prefer the Corbin to the soft squishy stock seat--"1 hour wedgie" seat is what I call it!

NadMad,

With the low bars you may find the OEM seat fine. They (the bars) rotate you forward enough to make the ridge less noticeable. That was how it was for me.

Ultimately I purchased a Gunfighter. More for the solo look than seat issues.

I might be able to help you out. I'm the guy that bought inmate Kentucky's W650 back in January. Because of the recent foul weather, I haven't ridden it much, but at this point, I prefer the stock seat to the Corbin. Give me some time to take some long rides, and I'll know which one I want to keep. I also want to play around with bars, so that might affect my decision.

corbin seat

I can ride till I run out of gas with the Corbin seat . I want to stop to rest after just 20 miles with the stock seat.

Another nice W650 for sale and it is mine.

I'm just riding my Ural now and the W sits looking sad in the shop.
