Right on!

I'm perpetually amazed that yer older than my dad, BTW. Only by a few months, but still. He either acts way older than his age, or you act way younger than yours. I think it's prolly a little of both.

Here's a pic for you POGs--maybe the best aviation-related pic I've ever seen in my life. My wife is a photography buff and actually has some skillz with a camera, and she said this pic was brilliantly executed. I'm just a random dipwad, with minimal photography skillz, but I know she's right.

I bet one of you POGs will be able to correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe the photographer is in a B-25 Mitchell; that air intake above the engine is a dead giveaway.

If that's Pappy, his plane oughta be marked VMF-214.

I loved Black Sheep Squadron when I was a little ineptizoid

Jimmy Dolittle and Pappy Boyington... pilots who made the planes famous or was it the other way around!!!

Good pics no matter who is flying...

BTW - look closely at the traffic on the Golden Gate... must have been something going on that day...

My Mom and Dad used to be friends with a guy in Elberta that flew with the Flying Tigers and Black Sheep Squadron, He used to show me the all kinds of pictures and gave me a USMC patch.

A couple questions for you POG hot-rodders: is this Camaro really running a Ford 9" rear end? How can you tell? Does it look that much different from a GM rear end?

Its hard to tell from that angle. A 9" Ford rear end is extremely popular in the drag racing community. The easiest way to see a difference is the GM rear end has a cover you remove from the rear to access the gears. A 9" the whole "chunk comes out of the front.

The orange part houses all the gears and is removable by removing the hardware and pulling it out after pulling the axles out. The axles bolt to the outer flange which is an added benefit in the event of a broken axle, the wheel stays where it should be.

Typical GM style rear end. It has "C" clips that go inside where the yellow springs are. If you break an axle, there is nothing to keep the wheel on the car.
