The secret trail to get to one of the cabins we'll be going on in the Panamint Valley Cabin Ride, after the sand pits and deep river crossing.

Sign me up for this. Not even sure of any specific destination @ this point in time, but this sounds like a good start

RIDE ON!

Steel Pass Ride Friday

For those planning to go, stop by my campsite to introduce your self and for a beer. Site #29. I will arrive Wednesday evening.

Plan to meet at my campsite (#29) at 8:30 Friday morning for a short meeting- so we can introduce ourselves and talk about the ride. I am going to do my best to roll at 9 AM, but am flexible.

The plan is to stop for a short break at Hot Springs and Teakettle. At Teakettle, we can decide whether to ride Hunter Mtn (if it is passable) or Lippencot. I have no knee jerk opposition to splitting up at Teakettle (one group Hunter and one Lippencot) provided there is a leader for whichever way I do not ride, and all riders are accounted for at Teakettle before we split up.

It probably is a good idea to make a quick stop at Saline Valley Rd and Lippencot Junction, top of Steel Pass, intersection after Eureka Dunes, Crankshaft Junction and the intersection near Ubehebe Crater. We can decide as we go, and will depend on how spread out we might get. If you know someone in the group well enough to ride together in a staggered formation on the roads, please speak up when we meet. That helps keep the group together while giving everyone "clean" air.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Cheers,

Everything is loaded, and after breakfast at my favorite neighborhood eatery, I am on the way! 'Have a couple of stops on the way, but they are right on the direct route. I'll save few camp sites for everyone.

I figured out some money solutions - But, my poor dog Winnie ended up back at the vets yesterday afternoon. My principal wasn't too happy about me missing Open House night (I asked a friend to tell her that I had a doggie emergency and put a note on my classroom door, but I found out today that she didn't get the message - oops)

What's another $186?

I picked up a flier on pet insurance.....

I sent you a pm, if you didn't get it I want to thank you for the kind offer of squishing into your camp spot!
Looking forward to the ride up to Wild Rose
Missed the PM

Hope you are done with the vet bills and she heals well. Read the fine print on the pet insurance. I had some many years ago and was surprised at what it didn't cover.

Stop by and say Hi (space # 1). I should be pulling in noon Tuesday.

Is there any camp sites available for 1 tent?

How much are the "dues" and the dinner stuff that I see on the front page.

No more time to work on the bike until I get back from Mammoth, on the bike list is skid plate, oil change, bark busters (hopefully I have time, they don't exactly fit), and maybe brake pads.
What the hell are you riding

It sounds like all you are doing is keeping that pile together with Duct Tape and Bailing wire....

Might be safer for you to walk.

There's sand if you want to go certain places, and plenty of riding on grated gravel roads without deep sand. Easily avoidable if needed, just choose the right rides. If you can get in the event there's plenty of folks that can help steer you in the right direction.

still count as 2 once you get out of the tent.

same for those rving and trailering, each passenger, except for a child, counts as a participant and must pay the registration fee.

we will check every trunk and back seat of each vehicle, including those touratech panniers entering the campground....

This is a store-and-forward repeater, normally operates as simplex but I'm going duplex so you don't have to hear transmissions twice if you're close. Incoming transmissions are stored and then re-transmitted on full power when complete, as such a one second message takes a total of two seconds to get across the group.
List of "local" DV repeaters as posted on Expedition Portal:

Did I miss a simplex frequency?
