BMW 1150:

60,000 miles.... and the ONLY reason I got rid of it was a fear of major repair without an extended warranty. I loved it, and it was every bit as good, tight, and crafted a bike the day I sold it as the night I drove it home from the dealership.

In the last ten years I've also had fun on the "underpowered & heavy" Sportster 1200'S' (though I didn't KNOW that it was underpowered nor heavy). I also had the wonderful Triumph triple, a couple "slow" 69 hp Bonnevilles (though I didn't knowthey were slow), a 130hp/71torque (at the wheel) FZ1, a 116hp/82torque (at the wheel) Bandit 1250......

You know what?
It ain't about the power at the rear wheel, it's about using what's beneath you and just having fun.
And about that "wierd" ("rubber cow" of yesteryear) tella/penta lever suspension? Might be the best suspension for real world riding, goat trails, tore up California freeways, and high speed canyon carving EVER! Some may insist that it sucks for track days, but what're you buying the bike for anyway?

I sooooo want a dual plug BMW R1150R Rockster (sans ABS; less expensive upkeep). I loved that Roadster, and the Rockster is just a refined version for more 'spirited' riding. And the RS?..... Oh HELL YEAH, I'd love to have a blue one!

Are those GS hand guards?

Wunderlich guards, THEY WORK GREAT! They have saved me off road against bark, on road against asphalt, and in traffic against driver's mirrors. Easy to attach and sturdy. GET THEM!
