I am waiting to join this club. Patiently waiting. They were supposed to be here mid January. Then mid February. Now any day. WHERE IN THE HELL IS MY 2013 990 SMT?? I want. Black please.

maybe it sounds like a silly question, but does the '09 model have a 12v plug ?

No but it has 2 12V acc. leads just behind the steering head, one that is constantly on and one that switched by the ignition.

The 12V plug is mounted on SMT's from 2011 onwards

As i am really interested in a '09 or '10 model , it would be great if someone could provide me with following information:

1) Are there any major differences between 09 and 10 model ?

2) I have seen that there was a recall for the suspension system, are
there any known issues that seem to rise up on the SMT series ? water cooling system, clutch or anything else.

3) What has to be checked on the 30.000km service ? Valves, oil , anything else?

4) Does the akrapovic exhaust system (not full system) increase fuel consumption ?

5) Is there something i should pay extra attention on the SMT, since it will be a used bike.

As far as I know
1. No
2. Recall on suspension? no clue never had an issue regarding this with my 09
3. Sorry no idea
4. Depends, standard map no, akra map yes.
5. Most likely issues, the clutch slave cylinder, although with SMT's that is rarer since they are relatively (vs the 950/990 Adv) new.

I left my SMT in Phoenix for the winter. Going to get it in a couple weeks. It'll be new to me again!

I have a couple parts piled up in a corner waiting, too. :)
Then it'll be a new beast once more!

The SMT is a nice mix of bike. I imagine I'll have it for a long time.

Nice to see this thread on pg 1 again!

Picked up my new SMT on Friday !
Weather hasn't been to nice (30's) so only have 52 miles on it . Looking to get more today should be 50 out later.
Been great so far !
Guess I don't know how to post pics on here anymore.
