Question GPS maps for Land Between the Lakes

Does anyone know where to get detailed base maps of LBL? Garmin NT doesnt get real detailed in there.

Haven't found any GPS data yet, but here are some good .pdf maps you could use as reference in mapping something out in Mapsource. Get the LBL General map. These are good too.

Ibycus has a bit more detail than NT. Still, you need to get an MVUM as suggested in the previous post.

Yeh I was looking for the same thing. I finally got the tracks from the last DS ride there. They werent much good since you cant ride the hiking trails. I just started riding there and wondering around. I have been told any road with a number is legal to run. With a GPS its kind of a no brainer. Barkley on one side Ky Lake on the other. Kind of hard to get lost.

yeah we just ordered the topo for garmin, trying to get a little better detail. They are all good roads to ride, but if you wanted to put together a good loop there are a lot of dead ends. Another point about the numbered roads if you aren't familure is that the higher the number i.e. 400's the less the road has been maintaned. 100's tar and chip, 400's nicely rutted!

Delorme GPS and Maps

I am looking at the DeLorme GPS 40-N to replace an old Lowrance unit on my r1150 GSA. They claim you can download all of their maps (including topos) for $29 a year.

Has anyone used a DeLorme GPS and is the mapping better? Tx

LBL tracks

I'm planning on heading down to the Land between the lakes for a weekend of moto camping in May. I'll be picking up a GPS before I head down, and would like to know if anyone has (legal) tracks from around the area. I will probably use the tracks from the LBL dual sport ride, but I know many of them are only legal to ride during that event. Otherwise I'll try to use the forest service maps, google maps, etc to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Made a custom map for LBL Turkey Bay.
I have a Garmin 62S and used Google Earth to create an overlay.
