I do have a computer bag that makes a pretty good impromtu SHTF bag, but it's getting pretty ratty, having been through a deployment to A-stan and many years of business and skewl trips.

Daughter is getting old enough to start thinking about hiking/camping. So I am beginning to think about a replacement for the above and something that can go hiking ( I'm not enough to want a dedicated BoB). I'm thinkin' one of the lightweight backpacks that come with a "day pack". Big one for me, little one for her and that both can serve as readiness gear.

Any suggestions?
