The Montana (or a derivative of it) will not be the new Nav V.

Even if you could get the BMW firmware, it would not load on an ordinary Zumo. The firmware checks the units electronic serial number before installing. Zumo and Nav V use completely different number ranges.

XM radio subscription 6 mo for $25/mo

Hi all,
FYI, XM radio is offering a 6 month subscription for $25 w/no activation fee. I got this offer 1 week after the free 3 mo subscription expired on our new Volt.

The catch is that after 6 mo, the subscription renews at their usual rate, $15/mo. BUT, if you pay by check from an invoice they send you, you can cancel the day before the 6 mo. runs out. You just have to stipulate that the billing is by invoice. I would not let them charge my cc. as they are terrible to deal with for cancelling a subscription that's got a cc. attached to it. At least according to the Volt owners' forum and that reflects my experience of trying to get a refund for a pre-paid subscription that I cancelled when Sirius merged with XM a few years back.

This offer is also good for new subscriptions too so I've just bought a used XM30 antenna for my Zumo and will get 6 months for it for another $25. That will take me nearly through the end of the riding season, in mid-Sept. I'll cancel that one too and wait for this deal to come around for it the following spring. XM is worth $4/mo but not much more, at least to me.

I was given a year's free subscription with the K1600, but did not renew. I can buy a couple of micro SD memory cards, load them with thousands of songs and then stream in stereo bluetooth to my Sena headset.

From the last GS trophy, sure looks like a Montana....

I am not a believer; I'll stick with facts.
Is does say "Adventure" and not "Nav V"
Let's just say everyone is a little correct and a little incorrect.

All the previous BMW navigators have had 10% more functionality than the Garmins they are based upon, for 100% more cost. I doubt this one will be any different.

I work for Garmin and have been beta testing the Nav V for the past month.
I can guarantee you it isn't based on the Montana.

Do you have a link for this special offer? The SXM website has nothing.

So any hints on when the NAV V will be available? Is it made to fit the NAV IV cradle on the K16 and new GS as well?

Will there be two different BMW Navs?

And would ya tell those guys on the 350LM team to let it display tracks, and make the dashboard data fields optional? Beer's on me if you do.

Ding ding, we may have a winner.

Oh, and I suppose you would also like a sunlight readable display, cord detachable at the mount... No NAV V for YOU!!
