Suzuki TS 185

Anybody know much about the suzuki TS 185? I am thinking of buying one right now, it`s a 2007 model, seems to be in pretty good condition. Just some rust on the exhuast etc....but other than rust and tire wear it looks alright. They are asking around $1,600 usd, I`m here in mexico right now. Looking for a bike to travel long distance on. The only thing I am not sure of is would this bike be easy and somewhat cheap to find parts-repairs (in central-south america)? As this is the first TS 185 I have seen in all of mèxico. It only has 15,000 km right now by the way. Also, it`s a 2 stroke...which I`m not so sure about. It will consume alot more fuel right? And not be as durable?

Very good bikes in their day, yes, it will suck gas, has a small gas tank, needs 2 stroke oil.
If set up right and in good shape, it should run a long time without major problems if you do not ride it hard all the time.

I can't say about parts but its not a modern Honda.....

Yeah, that whole suck gas thing probably isn´t the best for travelling then, especially having to go through the trouble of having to look for 2 stroke oil etc...

2007 model? Have they been making them all these years in Mexico? I had one back in the 1970s. Bullet proof bike. I put mine through all kinds of hell. Raced it. Drowned it a couple of times. Never killed it. It has a two stroke oil tank so gas in the gas tank and the oil and gas get mixed automatically.

I am assuming the TS-185 you are talking about is a Suzuki with a high exhaust pipe?

should not have any problem with 2-stroke injector oil because of all the marine outboard motors.
