That's sweet, but since its a KTM, it'll be like $10k.

Same negatives as with most other electric scooters . .
1. Multiple times the cost of a 139QMB 50cc China scooter.
2. No flat floor for gallon jugs of milk and water, or basket for other groceries.
3. Requires high-tech batteries, as compared to a marine battery from Walmart.

If all I wanted in a scooter was to get from point A to point B it would be fine. But, that's not why I ride a scoot. I want storage and some wind protection. 50 mph isn't going to cut it either, my 35 year old CT90 will do that and it gets about 100 mpg.

The concept is cool, but worthless. Both my Vino 125 and Zuma 125 will match it's speed, with unlimited range, and a place to carry things. The gas they use probably costs less than batteries for that, and the price is probably a small fraction of what that costs. Now if they could sell that for $1000, people might buy it. At the current rate of development, electric vehicles have many decades to go before they are practical, if ever.

I still like the concept of hydrogen fuel cell technology, but nobody seems to be doing anything with that. In order to be usable in the real world, a vehicle must have a decent range, and be instantly rechargeable.

If you want an even smaller vehicle than a 125 scooter, with unlimited range, 50cc pedal mopeds are still available, and then there are 4 stroke gas powered bicycles.

I don't think you can compare a concept bike with a production bike. Still, you have to appreciate KTM's effort to move into something different - a scooter AND an electric one.
