Ultimate mid size dual sport?

Wanted, 300 lb or less (ideally) dual sport. 50% road/dirt roads, 50% trails.

KTM 500exc, KTM 690, DRZ400.........

I'm 6'5" 210 lbs and also want reasonable seat comfort for occasional passenger for short rides. Needs to be reliable.

KLR, XR650L, are heavier than ideal.

thoughts or suggestions?

KTM 690 or Husky TE610 will fit your size nicely

A plated xr650r is just about perfect, if the state you live in allows it.

I would say the Husky 610, it has a better gearbox for dual sport than the 690. But unfortunately they don't make it anymore - been replaced by the more softroadish 650.

690 with a better seat would work. Love mine but no passengers. Would be passable for passenger, but not great I would imagine.

At your size, even the 400lb+ bikes aren't likely to fit a passenger without lengthening the seat like Phreaky Phil did to his DR. You will want a strong subframe for that.
