Tiny oil seal in the input shaft

Hey guys, I keep reading about how to install the clutch push rod seal in the end of the input shaft but there doesn't seem to be any room for it on my shaft.

As best as I can tell my box is a '74, 5 speed, no kick start...

Is there a different setup for these boxes? The main part of the shaft is flush with the end of the top hat shaped bearing holder.

I'm away from home and can't see my 76 parts book, but it may be that you're 74 relays on the felt pushrod seal? I know that the tiny oil seal is fitted to my 82 and that it was a bugger to fit.

Hope this helps

That tiny seal doesn't apply to pre-'81.

That little seal needs to be pressed/pulled in with equal pressure all way around the seal.
Some light oil will help.

But as Anton said, that seal does not apply here.

Thanks guys, I thought it might be the felt one.

The previous owner of this bike brought a lot of service kits, seals and the like, and quite a few of the parts don't apply.
