Is there any way to print the Legend? Would be nice to be able to print it w/ the road book so people not familiar w/ the symbols can study them.
We have a link on our Rally School page to a PDF primer written by inmate "lastplace" which includes the lexicon.

But it might be a nice idea to (optionally) include the lexicon in the printed route header.

Is there anyway to have a printing option so that I do not have to print individual sheets and tape them together?

How did you get it to print the full width of the paper? No matter what I do or what printer I choose, I get a print which is about 2/3 of the paper width....

The printed area should be about 6" wide, regardless, to fit into the physical roadbook holder. You have to trim the paper (on one side only) to fit.

Are you saying that it's printing larger or smaller? What size paper are you using and what size paper are you selecting in your print dialog?

HogWild has discussed this at length and built his own custom printing contraption. This really is outside the domain of the Rally Navigator software since it's at least partially a hardware problem. However, when the software is done, we will be looking for a pay-to-print option if we can find a printing partner to do the work.

I can take the print outs to the local Office Max store and they can roll print it for me but I want to try and print it without having the page gaps

That's my printout (special one with most tulips removed, for Jonah training). As Dave said, it's 6 inches wide, on special paper. And the printer can't pull the heavy roll, so I had to make a machine to feed the paper to the printer. The other problem is it takes way too long to print them. I only use this approach when I print one or two roadbooks. Most of the time I print on sheets and glue them together with a glue stick.

I'm building a new fast Laserjet that will print on 6 inch rolls, but that project is third priority, so it will be a while before it's ready.

We have a plotter at work that prints on a 34" wide roll that is quite long...100'? maybe more. If you could format the route with the appropriate software you could print up to 5 6" wide continuous charts on it. and then you would only have to make several very long cuts to split them up. I cannot use the work printer for personal projects but I am sure there are units available at office stores.

Thanks!

Not saving again.

I saved three times OK, then on the fourth I got an error message instead of the usual project saved.

System Info:
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition service pack 1
FireFox 19.0.2
Google Earth 6.2.2.6613

Just noticed that GE automatically updated itself to
Google Earth
7.0.3.8542

Could that be the issue?

Any possibility of making this an app?

pretty sure its not illegal to text and ride yet.

though in all seriousness...we have talked about using an Ipad for stage rallying in the car in place of a route book. So instead of having a spiral bound book full of stage notes we would have a constantly scrolling pdf file read off of the Ipad. Solves the need to flip pages and it also helps reduce map light glare for both the driver and navigator on night stages. Figured the Ipad could be put into a protective case and tethered inside the car so it does not become a projectile in the event of an offroad off wheel excursion.

I can't even imagine that.

What I was thinking was while the iPad mini is tracking and logging, you could stop and add tulips and notes on the fly, end up with a pretty accurate roadbook first shot. Not as a replacement for paper roadbooks, but to make them. With it as an app, it would be easier to just go for an afternoon ride and make a roadbook.
