GPSmap 60Cx - Prevent zoom out @ way point?

Sorry if this has already been covered/discussed. I did a search and used Google but didn't not come up with anything pertinent. Perhaps I was using the wrong search term(s).

I have a GPSmap 60Cx. I was experimenting with a "test" route around my neighborhood. It has about 10 via points and 8 way points. It's short enough that I can walk the route.

My issue: every time I encounter or pass a way point, the map zooms out to minimum resolution. I have to push the "in" button four or five times to get back to the scale I was using (120 ft., I think). Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I don't want to have to do this while riding.

I have registered the GPS with Garmin and My Garmin tells me that the unit's software is up-to-date. I am using Base Camp to create the routes.

TIA, Dave.

I think you need to turn off Auto Zoom:

To turn autozoom off on a GPSmap 60CSx/60Cx/76CSx/76Cx;
(Menu) (menu)
Setup (enter)
Map (enter)
(At top - left most symbol selected), toogle down to autozoom
(enter) select Off (enter)

Thanks Em, I'll give that a try.

EDIT: that worked great.

There is about an hour of set up you need to do.

Go to DualSportWest.com and click GPS follw instructions for 60/76 set up.
