KTM SMC690R muffler problem

Hi there,
I fitted my SMC690R model 2012 with a new Akrapovic slip on exhaust, the one recommended by KTM 76505099000
Problem is the bike stalls if I ride without the silencer piece.
Does anyone know of this problem?
Thanks,
Amnon.

The 690 requires a lot of back pressure, hence the need for the silencer.

Does it mean I can't ride it without the silencer?
My mechanic suggested to saw the netted part of the silencer off but I was reluctant to do that.
He also said there are two other mappings but they are for bikes that had the full system replaced (not just the slip on which is what I had).
He said he'll find out if it is OK to use that.

Yes I did all that. I can't see why the problem after all this is the muffler that KTM suggest.

You need to go to dealer and load a new map, akra map or evo 1 if your filter is modified.

Its not enough to do the 15 min reset, the bike needs more fuel than the 15 min procedure can fix.
