Stolen Garmin Montana 650T from Walnut Creek

Hi everyone,
I had my gps stolen off my bike (Triumph Tiger 800XC) from my apartment parking garage in Walnut Creek last week. I normally remove it from the handlebar mount (Garmin AMPS rugged mount) when I'm not riding but forgot to last time I was out. It was locked on to the mount but the bastard ripped out the hard wiring that fed into the mounting unit from the battery then just took the whole damn thing off the RAM mount while it was still locked into the cradle. Please keep an eye out if you happen to be on Craigslist or hear of one that comes up for sale, especially in the East Bay. you can PM me on here or send an email to anthonysa24@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.

Tony

suspension experts in the bay area?

Hi all,

Thanks for looking out for my stolen gps unit I mentioned a few posts back. In other news, I'm all out of patience in terms of the dreaded and infamous front end bounce on my tiger 800 XC. My dealer (ACE motorsports in Concord) doesn't have an answer and I'm not mechanically inclined enough to work it out myself. I'm looking for a shop that specializes in suspension in the Bay Area. When I had it in to ACE, they did a quick once over of some possible causes, but they didn't seem to be interested in actually digging in, finding the cause, and getting to a solution. I've been on the phone w/ Plush in SF just asking them if they were familiar w/ the T800 front bounce issue since it seems to be a pretty common problem (they weren't). I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that does good suspension trouble shooting. Thanks a million.

i had a fork rebuilt by Rob at Evolution Suspension http://www.evolution-motorcycles.com/ in Santa Clara. Service was good and the fork (Showa on a Ducati) worked much better. Pretty basic compared to what you are looking for, but he impressed me as knowledgeable and they seem to have a pretty good local reputation. I have no connection with the company other than as a satisfied customer.

Well, don't take it to CalMoto. Their service dept sucks.

Bouncing sounds like either compression or rebound damping isn't set high enough... assuming it CAN be set.

Give Dave a call at Smart Performance in Los Gatos. He lowered, resprung and revalved my Husky 310 recently, which required some custom engineering work and he did a great job. He knows suspension inside and out. He generally does work for people that send the forks in, but I left my bike there and he did everything.

Phone calls get quicker responses

I don't know if you'd care to explain what the problem is, I don't know anything about this bike/haven't heard of the problem, and the tiger 800 thread is too long for me to skim through. If the bike is bouncing on a smooth road, it sounds like something more related to the wheel than the suspension. If it's just bouncing a bit too much after a bump, it seems like something that most suspension shops could handle.
