Just found this thread

I signed up and paid for both days. I will be doing some primitive camping so I hope to find a flat spot to set up a pup tent. I'll be bringing my new Triumph Tiger 800XC with TKC80 front and Heidenau rear. I might be talked into the hero sections.

Tom

Here's a couple of quick pics from the BB Route.

Is this a newbie friendly event? I've never done one before. If the non-hero loop is like this photo then my Explorer should be fine? I've done dirt roads like this and would love to do more.

Roads just like that. Some a little rougher, some a little smoother, but all public town maintained. Some of them are closed for the winter, but reopen in the Spring. If there are no houses on them, there's no reason to plow them.

Yes, you will be fine and enjoy the main route both days.

Is this possible with a KTM 950 Supermoto with street tires?

Street tires might be a little dicey if it's wet. Then some dirt road spots could have a skim of mud that can get a little slick. Otherwise we have had people do these events on street bikes even though we do not recommend it.

Just come out and ride. I'll be on the babied KTM that only sees smooth dirt roads. I never go into the aptly named hero sections.

Are there Starbucks on the route?

Mad-Maz has a winch so ............................. c'mon down.

We had an email from a Ural Patrol rider asking whether it can be done and the answer was yes.
