Highway 7!!

+1 on highway 7 in Ark., very scenic, especially when there are no leaves on the trees yet, you can see everything.

Went to Bixby and toured chicken mans territory Friday. Watch out for the creek crossings, 1 of them is already slimed up. Topped off the ride with a beer at Crown Valley Brewery.

Calhoun Co.

Calhoun Co. is very cool and there are tons of roads that go back and forth between the Mississippi and the Illinois rivers. I've ridden a lot of gravel around Jerseyville/Bunker Hill but I have no GPS so there are no tracks, I know they are out there though.

I spent both days working around the house. Cleaning up winter storm debris. But I still got some shop time in - working on bending tubing to mount some Pelican cases.

I'm getting in plenty of miles commuting every day!

Advice request from a Kansan -
I will be in the Salem area next month on a fishing trip. I usually ride near the location a day or two before the fishing starts and ride as much as possible. Looking for scenic and challenging roads near Salem. The Mark Twain Nat. Forest to the east of Salem looks interesting. Don't mind exploring on my own, however with time limited, I would like to get a few loops planned ahead of time. Any advice for riding this area? Also interested in a decent place to base out of (motel, cabin, etc).
TIA
