That's nice, but sure ugly. Does anyone know of a small, chrome, analog tachomater that would work on the XRR? I bought one of the bajadesigns universal analog speedometers, it'd be nice to have a match.

What RPMs do these bikes typically max out at?

Haha, so true - chrome on an XRR is like buying a model T Ford and putting a digital HUD in it!

Thanks man.

Hakuna matata, I did that years ago (different bike). It's a lesson you won't soon forget. The best part? No dire consequences. Now go ride it.

Ok, ok...I'll see what I can do for you in the next couple days.... I had to replace the counter shaft seal on my XRR this week so I might have forgot a few things....

Well at the moment I am on a budget and can't afford a vapor + the mount. Also I'm in love with old style dual sports. I even considered putting an old style headlight and tank on my bike, and making it a bit like a high spun dirt tracker. I like simple, I like rugged. An electronic computer giving me digital read outs doesn't seem so rugged. I would've gone with a black speedo if it would've came that way. ;)

I have a stock odometer cable in the flea market, it will work with the ace well spedo from BD. I'd even throw in the gear hub thingie that's goes on the front axel for it. I've been meaning to buy a spacer that replaces it.

Sorry brother, but I've already got that stock speedo gear and odometer. Hopefully that BD speedo gets here soon and I can plug and play.

I know what you mean about being on a budget. I need a stator but just bought my bike so the toy-fund is dry... I have to plug the battery it has into a charger every couple days to keep the signals, tail and brake light and horn working. The head light is kinda scary at night too. I'd also like to put new jets and seals in the carb, it has a few issues...Just thought the tach is a good way to sort out your gearing

Ac/dc

I need some advice, I'm sure its been covered here before but here go's.
I have a conversion kit on my XRr( that the previous owner Butchered). I wired the lights and accessories to run off 12v dc sourced from a key switch. I got a hold of a rectifier/regulator to switch the ac to dc to power the battery/ switch. trouble is the R/R has 3 inputs fed from the stater and my bike only has 2. And the regulator on the bike has only one wire coming out to go to the coil and one ground. There is a blue wire coming out of the harness that originally went to the head light, is there a way I could use this wire to feed one leg of the R/R and have 12V dc coming out, or does it need all 3 phases to work?
