I have mixed feelings about the racing at Barber. On the one hand, it's a great and lovely venue. The turnout looked pretty good. And racing in the heart of Dixie is great for the series. Birmingham is a sports crazy town, their TV ratings outstrip the entire nation when it comes to ESPN, for example.

On the other hand, the races often aren't the most exciting. Yesterday, the restarts were great. But this thing went green flag for the majority of the distance.

I diidn't see the race, but it sounded like Dixon made it interesting to the finish? Nice to see RHR win, but would have like to see Dinger do a little better. And it seems the Hondas are competitive again!?

Long Beach. Last year they managed to be clean. It couldn't last. The miracle is Sato finishing a race.

What a thrilling finish! Sato blatant and repeated blocking but officials didn't call it. They've set a precedent for the rest of the season, now. For a while it looked like Josef Newgarden and Sarah Fisher were going to get their first win. Shame they couldn't pull it off.

Too many damn wrecks and cautions but the end more than made up for it.

well, it will be on nbcsn again tonight at 1:00 am eastern time.

i thought sato's first defense was probably ok, but the second was definitely a bit hinky. indycar has been fairly inconsistent with their blocking calls over the years, so had they actually called blocking it might have set a precedent.

the aggressive nature of this year's races make it seem like the spare parts pipeline is now quite full.

I hated to see Power's car catch fire after he had such a good run. He can be a little whiny, but I forgive that because he's obviously driven to succeed. And, the guy can drive a race car.
