There is a remote positive block for the battery so that both the positive and negative are easily accessible. I would suggest putting an auxiliary fuse block on the bike though for all of your electrical accessories.

Nice bike... still too tall for a 5'9er. Oh well.
Always liked the R1200GSs I've owned... but, for my taste, they needed cruise control. Real cruise control.

2 questions.

1. Anybody CALCULATED mgp yet?
I saw 50ish on the computer @ 60-65 mph.

2. Low suspension is not available with the high zoot ESA, right?

Dmilan
Low suspension is only available with ESA.

I am 5'7" and the new GS is now problem. I use a low seat. It is limit but doable.

Fuel... mine is at 6L/100km atm. Highway driving (around 80 mph) increases it. But only at 750 km so far.

Eh? TopBox for R1200GS 2013 WC

Any suggestions? Don't want it too big, needs to fit a 15 inch laptop. Was thinking of the Zega Pro 25l but Touratech in Australia live in a fantasy pricing world & I am not playing with them until their pricing is closer to other countries.

I put my laptop in a backpack. There are plenty waterproof and affordable backpacks on sale.

I would have to test if my laptops fit in the topcase (as soon as i get my cases). But lately I use an 11" laptop and a 10" tablet since they are much handier on the bike.

Those are some nice looking crash bars. I found them on sw-motech's site but not yours. Do you have a price for them yet in black? Also, in the pic you've got the center, colored panel off. Were you running wiring in there from the front of the bike to the back? How much room is there to do that?

Re Optimate, Battery Tender, Gerbings, etc: I have always asked the dealership to cap off the power to the factory power plug and then run it directly to the battery. This eliminates the canbus issue and allows use of all accessories just fine. A fuse block would be nice but takes up room and I've just never had a need for one.

I know some cars that need to go to the workshop and get the software to be reloaded. I'm thinking about engine software, clock and serviceindikators.
Nothing happens. I have done this myself to install a power outlet.

The crash bars will be available for sale in about 4-5 weeks (roughly around the third week of May). The part numbers are going to be:
  • Upper Crashbar - SBL.07.788.10000 retail $249.99
  • Lower Crashbar - SBL.07.783.10000 retail $277.50

I didn't do the installations. Our Service Manager and one of the prototyping guys did that. I think they were running a Power Hub to the rear underseat area for the Denali DX LED lights and a Stebel Nautalis Air Horn.

A laptop on a hard case right over the suspension, is invitation to trouble.
Laptops should go in backpack so that the additional "natural suspension" of the body absorbs much more.

I agree. I especially like the upper fairing guards compared to the Touratech ones, which look kind of goofy IMO. Not sure if I like the Touratech engine guard or this engine guard better. Looks like the mounting point for the upper guards is not a shared point with either the TT or SW-Motech engine guards, I could be mistaken though. Maybe it can be installed with either set?

One thing I forgot to point out was that the upper crashbar has a light mount incorporated into the design.

Thumb crash bars ordered

Thanks Kevin, I just called and ordered a set of silver lower crash bars. They're not yet on your web site.

Thanks for the order Doc! You may have just ordered the first set of SW-MOTECH crashbars for a water cooled GS in all of North America! I hope you will post pictures and impressions once you get them.
