Laugh skid plates

Does anyone have any comments on the value or need for a skid plate if you are not going to do any heavy duty off road? What about the exhaust pipe getting dinged from spray off the front wheel or the voltage regulator?

I get the impression from what I have seen here and there on different sites that I may suffer from a KLR mentality because I like to do my own "functional" mods. (lol) The funny thing is that's what allows me to have a BMW.

Are those 140/80R17 and 110/80R19 like OEM? I hear a 150/70R17 rear works too...

I went with a 130/80/17 on the rear, thought about the 150 but went the other way.

Well it looks good. Did you have to take the front fender off for clearance, or did you just do it for kicks?

I didn't have to take it off, just didn't like the half fender look.

Can anybody confirm if a 150/70R17 tire will fit without any issues?

Shouldnt be a real issue... the 150 means it's only 1cm wider which is less than half an inch.

reen... hows your bike doing? Havent seen you on here for a while.

I took mine off too... but I had to. When I put a 21 inch front I had to raise the lower fork brace. It's more open now like an enduro, much like the sertao version of this bike. I also added the sertao front fender! I think it's pretty cool
