For You Music Afficionados

For you folks that like music, Paul Thorn is playing a couple of spots this month on both coasts. He is the only act to ever play the BMW MOA Rally more than once. Three in a row to be exact. I saw two of them. He and the band are really good and worth checking out.

From his email on the subject:

The Paul Thorn Band is rolling back into The Sunshine State this week with a brand new show including songs from the new album, What The Hell Is Goin' On?. As always, CDs will be on sale for only 15 bucks and there will be plenty of merch on hand. Please forward this to all your family, friends and neighbors, invite a couple of Paul Thorn newbies, and come help us rock the house! Dates and times are below, and for a taste of the new record you can listen to four full-length tracks here.

I see where he'll also be in Tampa

One solo acoustic show and one the next day with his band

The Blue Rooster in Sarasota looks pretty good though

He's a pretty cool guy and a great storyteller - in song and just talking between songs. In the 80s he was 29th ranked middleweigth boxer in the world. Fought Roberto Duran on national TV and tells a hilarious story or two about it when introducing his song "I'd Rather Be A Hammer Than A Nail".

Came up through the music biz hanging with folks like Delbert McClinton and Elvin Bishop among others. But has his own style. I've got a bunch of his CDs and other stuff.

I'd love to go see hime in Lake Worth, but am up to my ass in alligators trying to get a broke car fixed before/while getting ready for the Old's Cool Spring Fling in a week and a half.
