No no no!
That was Singletrack Jeff that met Malcolm Smith.

Very cool!

That looks like a 250 Hustler. VERY quick in its day.

However - here we go again -I did meet and ride with John Penton on several occasions. Several times I rode on the same row as King Richard Berleson back in his heyday! Years later I talked with him at the Tenn National and he remember the RACES we rode-ahh he did not remember me. And even farther back that that, I raced with and sat around the tent area with Roger Decoster, Hiki Micola, Torsten Hallman and a few more big Euro names at the Trans-AM race in 1971. They were all on CZs back then and I was riding a CZ and spoke some Russian sooooo...

But heres a good one. Phil spent Billy Bowlegs Saturday afternoon with Ricky Carmichel - yea that one! This was back when we were still into racing heavy.
There were pics but god knows where they are now.

My XR doesn't do that!

Tomorrow marks the 71st anniversary of Doolittle's raid on Tokyo. Of the 80 airmen that took part in the raid, only 4 remain, 3 are in town for one last reunion. True American hero's.

When I was MUCH younger I had the honor of knowing one of the Raiders who worked at the Climatic Lab. The Air Force watched over its Raiders throughout the years! I can see his face, and remember his stories but can't recall his name. He passed just several years ago.

Saw on the news this morning that rides on the B-25 Mitchell will be possible for a fee.
Reggie rode the B-17 from Pensacola to Ft. Walton last year. Will try to dig up those pictures he made tonight.

Raiders

I looked up the Raiders. The gentleman I was thinking of was SGT Ed Horton a gunner on Crew 10 who bailed out over China.

Wow!

And that's not a KLR rider friendly kinda fee either.

9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - B-25s on display (free) and available for flights ($425) at the Destin Airport.

Ride up on the DRz then. If I had $425 and was local i'd shell it out to ride in something like that.

Me too.

Here's a few of the pictures Reg made of the ride from Pensacola to Ft. Walton Beach and back last year.
Once the bomber left the ground,,the pilot told them they could climb all over the plane as they wished.
Landed the B-17 back in Pensacola just before dark.

I think he paid about that much for the trip and told me it was worth every penney.
