Thanks also to DRONE! He has offered to lead me on a local ride and show me some pointers before blasting back east!

He outlined some basic things to keep in mind...

1. Close your eyes before every turn and roll on the throttle.
2. Ballast is for wussies.
3. Throw your weight to the outside of every turn.

I'm good to go...

Close, but you got #2 wrong. What I said was "ballast is for Triumph wussies!"

And you forgot #4--"Never use your brakes unless you absolutely positively got no other choice, then make sure you lock 'em up!"

trip reminders

There are only three things to remember before any motorcycle trip...
"Is my hair cool?"
"Is my bike cool?"
"Do I have gas?"

Normally, the only thing I worry about is the last one. "Got gas? Yep, let's keep riding...."

It is truly a good thing I decided to wait until May for my journey...

This morning at Casa Moosey: 7 degrees F and 6 in of snow yesterday.

Yup, the groundhog day winter that won't end. Two hard blasts of snow here in upstate NY today.

Oh sweet!! I'll be riding up the third week of May, around the 13th or 14th, to have them put on the sidecar to my black/yellow '03 1150GSA. I'm super excited to try it out, and my rig is also for the "furbutt" although I haven't yet started her training.

I'm a bit boring and will be trailering it home so I can learn how to ride sidecars the not-so-hard way. I envy your upcoming adventure and hope we'll see each other up in Enumclaw next month!
