Hi,

We just pushed a new release to the site. It appears to take care of the reports of not being able to open a new route after it has been saved. Thanks to the two folks who PM'd me with details.

We still recommend that you save frequently. There may still be a gremlin floating around where saving may fail. You don't want to be caught out with hours of unsaved work. "Save early, save often" as they used to say.

We plan on implementing an auto-save function as well.

Dave

Any other rallyists also software devs?

Hi,

Just thought I'd throw this out there... we have room for another developer on the Rally Navigator project. We want another rally enthusiast. As the product is free, there isn't any cash to share, but we have some intangible and other tangible benefits to offer.

JavaScript, jQuery, and/or Ruby on Rails. Google Maps or Google Earth API experience a plus. If you can help, drop me a PM or email. Let's not muck up this thread with replies.

Thanks,
Dave

Auto-save

We've just pushed some new code out. We now auto-save your route whenever you are idle for 10 seconds. This should prevent data loss if you have unsaved work at the same moment you find a bug.

Enjoy!

This application is awesome. Best thing having emerged since I started motorcycling 35 years ago. Can't wait to use it, so we've teamed up some dudes here in Norway - checking it out this coming season in the Norwegian wilderness

Edit: For the record, I'm using the latest version of Google Earth - with no issues whatsoever.

a) Toshiba notebook R630-138 w/4mb RAM, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Dave and crew, this is such an awesome tool. thank you so much for your efforts. In the last week I've put together 3 routes. I have noticed a slight bug in the auto save when typing in the text box to the right of the tulip. I doesn't seem to recognize typing in that box as activity. When it auto saves you get kicked out of the text box and have to re-enter it via the "edit" icon in the top R of the tuplip.

But at least it's saving.

All my prior issues have been fixed by the latest upgrade. The Autosave is a bit brutish, but it works.

Great Job!
