Fishfund is back (for 9 days)

I flew down to Costa Rica 9 days ahead of my friends. I just rented a xr250 and got service on my iPhone. Why not do a live ride report is real time for the next 9 days? There is 3G service everywhere. Here comes my first really real time report.
This is Thorsten. After some negotiating and name dropping my blogging over at RoadRunner magazine he dropped the rental price from $55 to $36 a day. Off to a great start.

I have a friend who lives in Playa da Coco who happened to be in San Jose when I flew in yesterday. He picked me up and took me to www.Wild-Rider.com to rent the bike. We separated and I picked up a sim for my phone and we met back up 1/2 way back to his home.

With 150k still to go before coco I find myself driving at night. Something I try not to do, but what I end up doing a lot.

Luckily the road didn't have any surprise potholes to kill me and I made it in safe to find a spider and scorpion in the house waiting to welcome me home.

Now I'm all caught up and the rest of the report will be real time as I shoot the photos, and yes, I already have a poop picture on deck if anyone was curious.

Tomorrow I'm going out fishing on the pacific with Gary who is one of my commercial fishing buddies from Alaska. Should be a great time.

Adios

It's midnight, I'm going to bed and skipping the suicidal shower.

What's wrong with that shower? Last time in CR I had the chance to replace the heating element in one of these.

Good to see you at it again. ¡Que te vaya super bien en CR!

Up at 6 am for our fishing trip, made some coffee, fed the dogs than ran around getting gas, beer and ice.

Hey Luke!

Is the XR250 Tornado the same thing as a CRF250L? (this question is open to anyone that knows).

Post Poop!!

Caught a fish. We ended up getting about 6 of these.

Saw some of these guys.

Filleting the fish

now we are going to where Gary works at a seafood restaurant to have our catch cooked for us. It will be our second dinner. Here was the first at the family's compound.

They are completely different bikes. CRF 250L being much "better". It's definitelly newer technology.

looking forward to this!

The fishing is really good in Costa Rica, we brought so much fish to the restuarant we had to tell the gal "no mas por favor" as we were all stuffed. Any more would have just plain hurt.

looking forward to tommorrow!

Good to see ya...

Was wondering when we would get our next Luke fix...

Saw a pic of you in Noah's ride report when he bought your bike (no story to go with that pic either)...
