I ended up flagging between turn 2 and 3.
Had a fun weekend standing out there all day for three days.

My total cost to attend the inaugural Austin MotoGP?

Gas to drive down and back and a couple of cups of coffee. Other than that having to stand 20 feet from the track with a flag at the ready, only waved the yellow flag in anger twice in three days, had that many red flags.

Free camping for volunteers on track, free breakfast and lunch, they served good BBQ one evening, pizza another, my nephew from San Antonio bought my dinner at Cracker Barrel Friday.

Hey Bill, I may have seen you with a telephoto (not mine), we were in the stands at turn one. Do you recognize the fellow in the pic who was patrolling and I saw him ferrying spilled riders now and then? I think there were a couple of spills in that short turn two, plus a couple in turn one, but now I don't remember which moto run. It was a blast, sounds like you spent a lot less than I did, lol.

Hey did you try those portapotties that were sitting at an 8 degree angle up behind the first turn?

Concentrating on your balance was suddenly more important than usual, lol

I was visable from those stands with a good lens. I was right before the Red Bull bridge.
Don't know who those guys were running the rider taxi's. I want their job though.

Gs-911

Good morning all,

I have an issue with my '09 GS that the accumulated G-Spot wisdom has diagnosed as out of calibration stepper motors. To reset them I need a GS-911 and would prefer to not buy one, but would sure pay to rent yours for a couple days.

Anyone in the OKC area have one that they would let me use?

Thanks,

Randy

You wouldn't by chance have saved the GPS tracks back to it? I could use a bit of a trip and would be glad to bring it back for you!

I'd like to have their job too. I happened to run into the guy who ran that crew on Sunday night after the race. He runs the taxi bikes at Indy too. He was polite, but essentially told me, fat chance.

Now if only Richard posted his photos...

I know he had some good close ups of bikes sliding, sparks flying etc.
