I guess you better crack open a beer to wash down your words. I have not had any problems getting plates for the last three KTM 300's two strokes I owned. I live in Polk County. No slight of hand, just go in with my MSO and title it.
Not saying it will continue but have not had any problems in the past.

No such luck here. KTM's and anything that's not a Harley or Honda, gets a personal visit and inspection from the DMV office. I'm not joking. They have been out twice to visually inspect my bikes and I know others in the county who have had their plates taken away, if the VIN's aren't proper, or the bike doesn't have the emissions sticker, which they don't, unless it's a 50 state legal bike like the newer EXC's.

I've got three bikes licensed in Jasper CO. IA - One KTM and two Hondas. Never had any trouble with any of them and no one asked to see the bike or verify the VIN or emissions stickers.

Really, there's no point in speculating. It all depends on that guy's county, who is working the desk, and what kind of day they're having.

A ride my brother and I took around SW Iowa. 320miles

Leaving my house last weekend. Temp was about 50 deg. Starting point North of Atlantic IA

Little BBQ place in Logan IA. Not great, not horrible. They were sold out of ribs Though they had litterally some of the best baked beans ever.

An observatory near Crecent IA. We headed west of Exira on F-58 all the way to the Loess Hills, camped then took the scenic roads all the way to Nebraska City NE. Then cut across back up home through Red Oak etc.

Nice little campsite. We tried another place down by the river, but it had been flooded last year, and it'll be 2014 till it's open for camping. It was called something "Island" state park.

Nice little fire the next morning, then into town for breakfast. (of course a nice fire the night before too)

Some cool little sand roads cut into the Loess Hills. These are down by Tabor IA, somewhere around there. Not sure, we just kind of wandered around back and forth and south through the hills. Great leisurely ride with no place to go. My favorite kind.

I couldn't resist taking a pic of this place. I think it was Trainer or something. Maybe Tabor.

This is the Lewis and Clark Interpretive center in Nebraska City. Very cool place. Check out the Earth Lodge out back.

This is a little park just west of Grant IA we stopped to rest at. It was VERY windy, almost 30 mph winds. It was great going with the wind, you felt like you were in this little pocket of still air. At around 50mph going with a 30mph wind, it is serenely quiet, you can hear the chain, and the tires. It's a pretty cool experience.

THE END!

at least you didn't find 50 cent in there, that would have been awkward

Got out for a short ride today, the K60 rear tire works GREAT. Held well on pavement and dirt.
