That's what the sidestand mount on mine looked like too. For a permanent solution, Woody's Wheel Works of Colorado offers a stainless steel mounting block, which I'm quite happy with. I believe that BMW now offers a SS replacement as well.

I bought the BMW steel version, no issues anymore. Had it on for 2-3 seasons now.

Love the new bike but will never trade in the HP2. If they came out with a LC HP2 I would buy it, but still keep the HP2 I have now.

My HP2E will be buried with my cold dead body, nothing will ever compare IMHO.

hp2

I just setting my bike up for a trip tomoz , its about 3800kms through the outback , easy riding but remote..I think the new bmw12 is an awesome machine yet the simplicity of the hp2e just gives me confidence whatever the conditions...I sold my first hp2 and regretted it,
Nah she is the real deal, competitative or just cruising she has it all and im confident of the hp getting me there and home.
Ps im 52 and one day she will be too much bike for me but till then....

I'm 55 and the HP2 is still fun to ride. Easier than the GS

I'm 59 and couldn't agree more. Bought it new in November 2005 and wouldn't think of selling it.

I am 55 in August and my HP2 is a keeper. I have a G450X and Husky 610 for the more technical stuff but for adventure touring nothing to beat the big girl!

Whats your timetable? I'm leaving on Sun 28th for Alice. Get to Birdsville on the 6th then Flinders on the 9th. Back thru the middle to Perth. Slim chance I know but our paths might cross.
