Yes it is.. It was posted way earlier and corrected. Who knows why it got reversed but it seems that way in the web pix that was the source.

That was the only one I have seen. It was original posted up here

http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...657248&page=44

and then included some shots of a similar bike but lacked the cross under/over exhaust.

I did a google search k100rs cafe racer images and it gave a lot of nice things. Many of those have been shown here but there are some other ones as well.

google search

30 years today...... On May 2 1983, the first 25 bikes came
out of the Berlin factory. These models had to make a
pre-250,000 km rigourous and thorough test each before the
K100 was finally presented to the public.

Which leads to the question... after such testing, why...

Did the speedo's/rev counters still become erratic?
Did the water/oil pump nut work loose so often?
Was the footpeg brackets so prone to vibration?
Did the centre stand handle rubber come off in ya hand?
The exhaust shield rattle loose the nuts?
The tank over heat?
The fuel cap leak water into the tank?
The seat cover crack/split?

Happy 30th birthday K series...

I always wonder how the side stand smoking issue never got caught during testing. Maybe it did and they just had to release the bike and address it later.

And why did they put the crank on the right and the head on the left ? When swapping them 180 would have fixed those problems, among other things.

I'm guessing, when testing, nobody ever had to actually use that stupid helmet lock.

It is somewhat surprising that it took them several years to deal with the smoky rings issue. Then again, it doesn't really hurt anything - other than mosquitoes.

Last weekend

It was wet in Hendersonville, NC at the antique bike show. I love riding the RS; but I could have really used the fairing on my RT.
