Motorcycle rentals in France?

Greetings All.

This July I am hoping to take a motorcycle vacation to see my parents in France.

I have done some Google searching and all the prices I see are WAY out of line. 1200 Euros a week with limited mileage is not a financial possibility.
(I can rent a nice car for 1/4th that.)

Does anyone else know of a place that rents morotcycles?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Long time rentings are very expensive for bikes. A week is okay, a month is like 4,000 US dollars.

€1200 per week? Tell them you want to rent it, not buy it.

Check the BMWMOA Global Touring - Touring in Europe web site. Scroll down to rentals.

You can get an R1200 GS in Frankfurt for €510 for the first week and €420 per week thereafter with 2500 kms per week included. Check out Allround Motorradvermietung.

Unfortunetly i validate this startement. Bike rental is very expensive in France, BTW this is somehow also true for cars if you compare with what you can have in the US. Most of the time low rates here means limited mileage and base insurrance coverage and high fees if you got a problem with the rented vehicule.
This is may be due to the fact that France is in Europe among the one with the highest ratio of accident/bike or car and also because of a high mileage/year/bike or car (largest country in western Europe).

Hi,
Please find below the details of a motorcycles rentals company located in the South of France, in the Nice area. Possibility of delivery and one-way between the main cities (Paris, Lyon, Toulouse..). Excellent service. Large choice of BMW. They also organize guided tours. Good location to start a motorbike trip in Italy (Dolomites), in Corsica or France (Alps, Provence)

You might want to put your post in European Venders. That way, it will not be lost as the threads push you out of sight.

I recently rented a bike for a week from a company called Moto-plaisir who are based in a town called Annemasse which is just on the French side of Geneva (and close to Geneva int airport). The pickup location is very convenient for trips in the French, Swiss or even Italian alps.
I had a great experience with them. the bike (650 GS) was good, reasonably priced and it came with a full set of panniers and GPS loaded with a great 6 day route through the alps
it is a small company that is quite flexible with pickup times (ie not closed at weekends like a lot of other hire companies).
Check them out here
www.moto-plaisir.fr
Highly recommended.

If you feel like a ferry ride from Ireland, I can set you up with something cheap and just leave it at your parents house.
