Wow. Both Paul and Linda if I'm ever in your neck of the woods I'll buy the drinks. I think thats one of the best stories I've read on here.

Update:

Two and a half years have gone by since this thread was started and active. I don't know how many of you will remember it, as so many members come and go, but we have an update...

At the ripe old age of 96, Howard has passed. He died peacefully in his sleep while in hospice care at the Veterans Hospital in La Jolla, California. His ashes have been interred next to those of Ferne, his late wife, in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Howard was a good man devoted to his creator, his wife and family. He truly loved life and in spite of his physical condition he fought the odds and lived it to the fullest extent possible. He is survived by his daughter Debbie, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. All family members were able to be together with him just prior to his falling asleep in death.

R. Howard Bollinger, may you rest in peace.

Sorry to hear of your loss, but so glad you were able to bring light and interest into his life.

RIP Howard, ride on!

Linda, thanks again! There is no way we can express our gratitude for doing such a kindness as
you have done. We will be certain to pay-it-forward to another, in turn.

Hope to see you again soon!

If any of you ever see this rig roaming the roads of Southern California (and beyond),
you've just had an "ol'broad" sighting! ...... Give her two thumbs up, will ya?

Eternal. Excellent. The facts, the individuals, their actions, the pictures, the weaving of the story, the spirit of giving. This defines what humanity is capable of being.
