Cape Fear Rally...

...is over
RFlagg42 finished 2nd out of the 38 riders who started in Union City TN. This will probably be his last trip East till the start of the Iron Butt Rally.
Lisa finished 12th and I 14th (reading comprehension is a bitch) out of the 18 finishers from Batavia NY. Half of those registered were either did not start or did not finish due to the weather (think they were better at reading comprehension than I am). Rode 1033 miles over the 29 hours of the rally - that includes points for a 6 hour rest bonus.
Learned two things
a. my iron butt is now marshmallow butt
2nd. riding over the Delaware Memorial Bridge in the dark in the rain with 40+ knot winds is not fun. have a real life appreciation for the winds the riders experience on Ruta 40 is Argentine Patagonia.

Wonder if telling Blaster that there is a Waffle House next to rally central in Wilmington NC could tempt him to sign up?

Attaboy Marty!

PS Even though RFlagg may have placed higher, we know you chose starting locations that roll with the Big Dogs!

Yes, I have. A couple of flower pots for starters . The white top case on my f650 started out pewter. No bubbling, peeling, flaking and it's still holding well, three years.

Same with the flower pots.

Yeah, I see the attraction but it doesn't park well... Then again I don't think any municipality would be able to tow you without calling in the National Guard.

Volunteers needed for Eagle Bay this weekend

The Trail ride is Sunday, and looks like they still are recruiting a few volunteers:

Quote:
We have plenty of marshals. I will need more people to score and some more to do the pm time keeping for the kids. I would also like to have someone who likes to talk to get people to buy raffle tickets and present the awards.

I will finalize times later, but so far we need help on Saturday from 1200-1800. We will be finishing up marking the trails, putting up tents and makeing sure the banners are up prior to Sunday morning.
