You are welcome dude.
It was a win win decision for me. I wanted to make sure my buddy made it home ok but if he didn't I want to be there to pillage parts from the wreck.

I think I have a new one of those tail lights. Collin gave it to me. I'll look tonight, if I have it it's yours.

Question for the asylum. Is the stock front headlight a duel filament? Is there a good and easy to install aftermarket LED replacement?

I just got my brothers XRL back and am doing a couple of small things and next up is to fix the front headlight. It works but no high beam.

The XRL headlight is a dual filiment bulb. Should be 55/60 watt.

Good, easy LED headlight? Don't know. Just install a Sylvania Silver Star bulb and you'll be good to go.

It's unusual for the wiring to fail for the high beam of the headlight. Have you tried several, H4, replacement light bulbs?

I knew it! I knew you had an ulterior motive.
My tail light is relatively new as it is. It gave me fits when I put it on though. I'm gonna try a different bulb when I get home tonight and see(pun intended) what happens .

I really want to get back up to Angelina. We need to start putting something together like Buddy was talking about last night.

Since they don't seem to be available from the forum here, I found another source.

The headlight plug no my 96 melted. The spade connections for the low beam were burned.
I replaced the spade connections with 90 deg. spades that I soldered on.

What are they for? Are they just pretty or do they have a function?

Side Luggage Racks

Hey gents, been a while since I frequented these parts. Good to see Spud and Steve on here every day :)

I live in E Africa and plan to do a charity ride around Lake Victoria at the beginning of the new year. I'm starting to plan the trip and looking at a few pieces to kit out my bike for a long ride. Luggage. I think I've narrowed down my side racks to two options, unless anyone else has some good suggestions.

Wolfman
http://wolfmanluggage.com/index.cfm?...product_id=154

It's a pricey kit just for the racks, but it's simple and does not attach to the subframe at all.

SW-MOTECH sold by Twisted Throttle
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-mo...ero-sidecases#

Not quite as expensive, but same price range. It attaches at 4 points instead of two, but relies heavily on the subframe, more or less requiring subframe supports.

Speaking of subframe supports, is anyone making these for aftermarket exhausts? I have White Bro's installed.

Back to the luggage racks. I'd like my total cost to stay around $400-500. The racks are $200 give or take and luggage $250. The Twisted Throttle model has a bunch of options but requires custom mounting hardware for your preference. It might send me over my limit a bit. I'm guessing the weight of the two options mentioned above are nearly the same. Wolfman may be weaker from 2 vs the 4 point bolt on, but it is simpler and doesn't require the subframe.

I would really appreciate your feedback on these two options and if there are others you suggest. As always, thanks guys.

It`ll make it so those cheap ass ebay rockers with the adjuster screws that are too long will actually work

I'm pretty sure it is just the high beam filament burnt out.

I'll give those a try.

When you flick on the high beam does it just switch filaments or do both come on at the same time?

Edited to add 200 posts!!!!!!! woohoo I'm so cool...

The bulb has two filaments so when you switch from low beam to high beam the other filament lights up and the low is turned off.

Luggage

I have the full Wolfman set up. Nice stuff. The loops mount to the back of the frame and to the passenger foot peg mounts so the load is spread around.

The water proof bags

Bottle holders

Tank bag

If interested I can do as before. Order it all and send it to you.

This is where I ordered my Wolfman luggage from:
