Thanks for the well wishes. I'm healing fine and am now pretty mobile.

Regarding parts, the bike isn't an antique, so anything salvagable is still available from BMW. No one is missing out on anything except an opportunity to save money. It is/was a special bike though so a shame to lose it. It died in action though.

I am home

Well, I am home from Portland. I picked my 2006 1150GSA and started home at about 1:00pm. The majority of the first four hours was in the rain. From a mist to at times a down pour. The bike handled it fantastically. I was cold to bone. At about 7:30 pm I stopped for the night in Klamath Falls. The next day I rode home via Cedarville Ca and then through Gerlach, Nv to Reno. It was a great ride.

I am very impressed with bike. I picked it up with 11000 miles on it and it is beautiful. I will post pictures n the next few days as the reality of work looms.

Welcome to the family. I bought one last year with 9K on it. At least it's getting ridden almost daily now. This is my second 1150 GSA, and it's just a fantastic bike IMHO...definitely greater than the sum of it's parts. I really hope I'm in never in a position of having to sell my 06 like I did my 04.

No one can get the stench out of the saddle.

That stench is part of the personality of that bike, plus it took a lot of burritos to add that particular odoriferous farkle.
