F700 model specific 3rd party windscreen fitment

I've read copious amounts of information on here about windscreens, and searched all the manufacturer sites, but it seems that Cee Bailey is the 'only' aftermarket mfg who has made a F700GS model specific fitment windscreen available as of this date (April 20/13). Is anyone aware of any others? I really don't want to start adding brackets to make the F650 screens fit. I'm particulary interested in a V-Strean touring screen.

I had a Cee Bailey and was very happy with it, the sport screen did not require any additional brackets.

I broke the Cee Bailey in a little accident. There is an Aeroflow in my garage waiting to be installed, I unfortunately do not currently have the rest of the bike.

Isnt the 650 screen mounted the same? I thought only the 800 wrapped around the sides.

Apparently the Cee Bailey's that fit the 650's won't fit the 700.
See http://www.ceebaileys.com/bmw/650gs_twin_ws.html
I actually like the look of the ones that fit the 650 better than the ones that are specific for the 700, they just look a bit more 'integrated' because they wrap around. It looks like it's the small winglets that they added beside the windshield on the 700 that messes things up, but not sure?

Here's what National Cycle told me about the VStream shields

"The F800/F650 shields will not fit on the F700GS. We are in the process of designing a new shield for the F700GS models. We are looking to have this shield ready by early summer."

I'm hoping that means early June.

They told me this at Christmas.

You can by the side mounts for the 700 from BMW for about $60 bucks I think.

Yep, I read that somewhere in here, but would prefer not to have to use 'accessory brackets' . . or spend an additional $60 (I think someone else said about $90). I hope they can retain the wrap around look somehow. Cee Bailey didn't and I think the new 700 screens loose something on the appearance side because if it. If these manufacturers can't elegantly address the wrap around because of the new winglets on the 700 . . I may reconsider the accessory brackets and the 650 screens which may end up looking better than the new screens with the winglets. This all seems like such a small issue considering the events of the past week doesn't it . . .

Hi together, my name's Wolfgang and I live in Stuttgart, Germany.

To introduce myself I'll begin by giving some input for this Thread:

Since some call me gnome, (proud 5'6" ) I drive the f700gs (not lowered) and with my short legs, my upper body / helmet sits always wrong in the wind (lots of noise and buffeting). I currently drive with the WRS shield for the 800gs, but since that is not legal in Germany (no vehical type approval - not even for the 800gs) its only a temporary measure to ride without my ears falling of...

here are now several new windshields (with vehicle type approval) coming up for the 700gs:

Givi has 2 shields coming up:
- a normal windshield: 5107DT (needs special brackets D5107KIT)
- an Airflow windshield: AF5107 (comes complete with brackets)

latest information of availability is about June/July - no pics yet.

MRA has 3 shields in the making:
- a normal touring shield
- the vario touring screen
- the X-creen-Sport

all can be found (including pics) on the MRA page, but no release date yet.

Powerbronze has a pretty looking windshield for the 700gs online, but since I read the rant (very nice to read ) about this UK based company I can't say anything about the release date...

http://www.powerbronzegermany.com/11...IGHT-TINT.item

I can't say anything about the US based companies, as they don't come with an VTA and the shipping costs would be nearly as expensive as the screen itself...

I hope this information helps you a little,

Many greetings from Germany and sorry for my bad english

Wasty

I've got the F800GS touring screen on my F700. It uses the brackets - you don't even notice it

I was going to go this route but thought it a bit too pricey for what you got.

The Givi screens mentioned by Wasty are now listed and shown with photos on the Givi site. A single piece screen that requires install kit purchased seperately, and a two piece airflow screen that apparently includes all mounting kit pieces.

I contacted Twisted Throttle today about Givi and MRA windscreens.

Givi told them 8-10 weeks.

TT will let me know when any are available, and I will repost here.
