Suzuki XF650 Freewind (1997-2002)

I was looking online at bike and found this DR type of bike , never heard about it before but they say that the beast have 47 HP ,could that be a more powerfull version of the DR engine.

Yep

I remember when they came out. Blatent copy of the BMW F650 which they were competing with. Nothing wrong with that, by the way.

I am pretty sure they run bigger valves to allow the extra horses.
And probably a cam and carb change.

If you like the f650 style and like your suzuki's then it looks like a good alternative.

Cool bike but I think it's a euro only model. Might be hard to find in FL.

The engine is the same as the DR650, except that the head has dual inlets for the dual carbs, and a bit larger valves.

yes!
For me, it's a very good bike, i maked 56100 km on/off roads and i don't have any problems.
If you run to this bike with speed max. 110 km/h your average gas consum is 4l/100 km.

New windshild for my bike

Suzuki XF650 Freewind. Excellent bike! Last model sold in Brazil in 2003. Sold very well in Germany, UK, Italy, Australia and other countries. Was never sold in the U.S.. Similar to the DR650SE.
This is my bike…

Here, equipped, on the Carretera Austral, CL - Trip to 14.000 km. No problem. Just put gas, oil and ride.

I worked hard at finding a way to import one ten years ago, but I eventually gave up. Wanted to have one bad, but settled for a DR650 instead. Simpler carburetor, anyway.

Hola de Cali, CO

There´s a fair number of them around here. I rode yesterday with a guy in Salento that has one. Seem like nearly perfect geometry for covering a mix of paved road and dirt road while loaded and some tougher stuff when empty.

The 19" front is a good idea for a bike like this, but it´d be nice to have tubless.
