Okay!! Now that we've put the dry bags issue behind us......

We last left our heros farting around in beautiful downtown Loreto....

Looking at bells.....

...and buildings....

...and badgers....

Jay doing some weird photo shit.....

Finally, exhausted by our vigorous extra-curricular activities we wandered back to our humble digs for some serious relaxation.....

We found this nice kitty relaxing on the street....

...though it wasn't very friendly.....

We kicked back and fired up the Rum-o'-Matic we had carried in our Dry Bags...........

Popped out and assembled our Kermit's....that we had carried in our Dry Bags..........

...and began an afternoon of relaxing...Rum swilling, laughter, and just doing nothing.......which is why we came to Baja in the first place.....

Jay wandered out to the Sea of Cortez to test the waters....and walk on them for a while.....

Soon a serious crisis developed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our bottle of rum had died.....

Being resourceful and action-oriented ADVriders....we put our heads together....

Jay volunteered to do a Rum Run.....

....and came back with not only Rum....but Coconut Shrimp!!!!!

...by far, the best I've ever eaten.....

Apparently, while wandering about town Jay had found a market....

....with LOTS of ice cream bars.....apparently not affected by gravity......

...and had partaken.....of a coconut something or other....

Which would figure into an Emergent Situation later in the evening......

Soooo, we lolled around and the day began it's gentle descent into the evening.....

...one of the local bitches.....

....who chose to hang with us....

The trip Photog in action.....

Now, during his into-town foray Jay had secured a mini sombero for Bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a drunken stupor I managed to suture it onto his little head.....by using the suture supplies In the medical kit/trauma kit I had packed....in one of the Dry Bags.....

....by aiming at the one in the middle.......

By now, it was time for dinner.....and so we went....for dinner....

More to come.....

As a previous WeeStrom owner and a current Tenere owner I just have to ask.....

What's in all those dry bags?

Great report y'all. The Baja tourism board should hire you.

Okay, let's get back to some serious stuff.......

The sun set under our direct supervision

....and the moon showed up....

We decided to wander into town for some grub...

Originally, we'd planned to here...spotted earlier in the day....

...but sadly, it wasn't open...

With heavy hearts we wandered back to the Malecon and found the Mediterranean restaurant...

and ordered up

Guac and chips.....

and Pescazo fajitas and shrimp/scallop burritos....

Sated, we began the mile or so walk back to the hotel......

....and Jay started to have a problem.....

Seems the Chorizo Burritos (breakfast), beer, rum, Ice cream, Coconut shrimp and Shrimp Scallop Burritos had exceeded his GVWR......

...and so began the World's Record Fastest Duck-Walk ever witnessed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a picture but it's just his back far in the distance so the desperation is not captured....

He claims he made it and I detected no errant piles on the Malecon as I made my way back.....

...anyway, I made it back to the hotel without incident....

....and found our hotel actually had advertisement....who knew?

We hit the sack with the plan for an early departure.....

Perusing the weather report showed temps in the 90's projected for the area the next day....

New day....

Packed up and rolled outta Loreto....

....and heading North up the coast.....

....Hwy 1 out of Loreto swings inland...

....and roller coasters along....

Multiple vados (depressions in the road that allow rain run-off to go freely on it's way) showed the signs of devastation the hurricane in late Sept had left....

These pics don't do justice to the amount of debris on either side of the road....and there were LOTS of these all along Baja.... They had done a great job getting it all repaired/cleaned up....

It was now 9am....and the temp was 92 degrees....

Not so bad when rolling but you roasted when you stopped....

Finally we popped onto Bahia Conception....

...where there are a series of awesome beaches....

We rolled down into one to check it out....

We debated stopping here to camp...and sorely wanted to....but it was f'n HOT with no wind and a slew of skeeters were already pestering us...

We ultimately decided to roll on....

We rolled into Mulege....which is a very cool little town with a myriad of tiny streets that seem to randomly wander in different directions....

....which we didn't seem to get many pics of......

....anyway, again roasting we wicked it back up heading north to Santa Rosalia....

[IMG][/IMG]

...and headed back inland towards San Ignacio...

We cruised into San Ignacio and explored the town....

The Lagoon....

Interestingly, there used to be crocodiles here....but they all ended up as belts, boots and into soup pots....

We went by the San Ignacio B&B with hopes of scoring a place to stay as it looked amazing....

No dice... We had been warned to get reservations but neither of us like to make reservations as we prefer to keep the day and trip loose. Reservations can lock you into a stop when you might see something/somewhere you want to stay before you get to your reservation.... Sometimes you lose....

No worries...we spotted this and decided to have some lunch...

WELL worth the stop.....

So now we will experience a pause in our trip/report....as the author is about to depart to WARPED (Western Adventure Rider Party and Endurance Drinking....)

I'll resume on my return.....

Carry on.

Okay.....WARPED behind me....a few days of rehab and we're ready to get back at it!!!!!

Last seen at Nano Fongs our heros waddled out to continue on our journey north....

We squirted up Mex 1 at a sedate 130-140kph (speed limit around 100kph)......

At one point Jay said over the intercom..."there's a Federale sitting on my ass".....

Knowing we were busted there wasn't too much to do....

He then blasted by us going at least 20kph faster than we were......

Gotta love Baja!!!!

Anyway, we rolled in Guerrero Negro and checked out a few places and got a room.

Onshore breeze brought blessed cool to the air....and a nice sunset....

Our digs for the night....

Unloaded, fortified ourselves with a couple of rum drinks and decided to walk over to Malarrimo for dinner....

...and had to take some pics of the local signage....

If'n you're going to Baja...these are prevalent....

....as are these....Nope, they're not bewbies........though one can wish....

They're topes....the bumps that slow your ass down or otherwise G-out your suspension and remove your sump....

So we got seated in El Malarrimo where we proceed to plow into some Guac-n-chips.....

....followed by a tasty soup....

....and then some great chicken tacos!!!!

Eating our fill be got ready to leave and ran into two guys (from Portland) who were hitting the pennisula on an all dirt route...you know....real adventurers.......

Like a dumbass, I did not write down their names....

They bought us some beers and we sat and shot the shit for a while.....

Tired, sated and wobbly, we wandered back to our room for the night....

Next...on to El Rosario.....and the Tecate/GIANT Cheeto's debacle.....
