990 Akro Baffle Removal Carbon Tips
I want to hear how my bike sounds with the baffles removed.
I cant see how its possible.
Looking at the carbon end pieces there is an allen screw See top arrow on pic but the head is non accessible, the carbon end caps are riveted. I wondered if the rubber bung on the underside is where you release the insert.
Can anyone please confirm the procedure?

Yes, pull out the rubber grommet and slide an Allen key up to remove the screw (4mm or 5mm, I can't remember which). Be prepared to have to pull the DB killers out with a bit of force - I doubt that they will just pop out as the tolerances are tight and the DB insert itself has a bend to it. I used needle nose pliers while carefully trying not to deform the outer ring of the insert.
You may be shocked at how loud it is - not terrible but certainly not friendly to the ears over a longer ride :)
By the way, I've observed zero power difference with the, in or out.

Insert a snug fitting socket into the baffle, then use waterpump pliers to pull on the baffle. This way you wont distort the round shape of the pipe.
They come out easier when hot after a ride.
