990 ADV lighting options - no, not another euro headlight thread...

Hello good people of Planet Orange...for my 2012 990R, I am looking at options for auxiliary lighting in addition to consideration of the Euro headlight, etc.

1- Piaa 510 mounted on the crash bars
2- Rigid 6" LED bar mounted under the headlight (I am not going with a high mounted fender - at least not for now) such as https://blackdogcw.com/black-dog-sho...ng-detail.html

Not really interested in other auxiliary LED lighting. To be honest, I love the look of the Piaa 510s with their grills and size, etc but was wondering if anyone has directly compared their overall performance to the single LED bar approach, etc. Also, any pictures of those LED bars mounted on the 990 below the headlight area would be greatly appreciated. I am interested in how they mount and fit for example.

Bottom line is that any auxiliary lighting that I add is going to improve overall lighting performance so this is somewhat about forms following function rather than vice versa. I get that there are some very proven approaches but I am really trying to limit my choices to the two above mentioned though I am not necessarily married to that specific Rigid light bar.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Yours truly, "Mr. Scared of the large wildlife popping out of the woods alongside the roads I travel at night" :)

I have a set of Clearwater Kristas (2400 lumens each light). These lights are great. They are made in Rancho Cordova, CA. They have a dimming function when turned on with low beam and when the high beam is on, they go up to 100%. You can't even tell that the high beam is on because the lights are so bright.

Since I got them, they have now come out with a 2000 lumen and a 6000 lumen model. They also have an 800 lumen light. All of the Clearwater lights are LED's.

The custoomer service is good also. I had a problem with the connector leaking. (They now use a different connector.) Luckily, I live less than 2 hours away. I took them in and they replaced the connector, cleaned up the circuit board and replaced the wires with a heavier gauge. All while I waited. No charge because they were still under warranty.

I wanted them fixed quickly, so I elected to go in rather than send them in.

Ok - I've ordered a Euro 990 headlight and a pair of Piaa 510 smr lights. Something tells me I'll end up with some LEDs down the road...
