Better add the blue tier horse trail to your list. Just ignore the mountain bike and walkers only signs that appeared.

At least they put walkways over what used to be really boggy sections

Thanks... I'll keep it in mind ...
(from experiences elsewhere, P&W officers are pretty fair and reasonable if you're just pottering around, not doing damage, and not a risk to other users)

Edit: I've looked at a couple of old XR's in the last few days... Confident I'll go that way... 83/84 XR200/250... I like the size/weight, amazing how small they feel now I'm use to bigger bikes... Just need to find one suitable for rebuild/restoration...

The "Balfour" track is okay to the coast in summer. You can get though two up, my wife went with me down to coast this summer on the GSA with luggage. The other side to the mine and cemetery is okay both summer (best) and winter, the holes in winter are deep but solid, no large rocks to worry about and a really steep climb to do in the quarry is fun two up if you want, tyre pressures have to be low for both. The walk to the Balfour cemetery is worth doing. And we didn't ride back up the coast track we went right round as I was worn out from riding down the track. Some sand to deal with and two up with gear takes it out of me these days.

dr 650 on the weekend . Taking the new gs for a main land run sounds like a good idea ,she needs to stretch her legs .
I'm off to WA with the DR in August for Desert Raid so I want to get a bit of thumper practice , or it could be embarrassing I'm usually the only one from Tas so I have to hold my heads high
