Having a looksee tonight and chat to Paul about the best way to go, insurance or home repair, as I have a lot of the original stuff from mine, will see what it looks like, I have had a few insurance claims myself, so I know the drill.

A few more stickers to personalize it wouldn't go astray!

Paul was looking just fine then.

Get well ASAP Paul.

Thanks Baric for...
A/ organising this ride and
B/ going above and beyond picking up Paul's bike. A real champion.
And this is how it finished.

I may be on the other side of the world, but I can keep him in my families prayers. I hope the break and surgery sort things out and there is a full recovery.

Anyone got his Speedo as I can't see it with the bike unless it is in one of his bags.
That is a costly bit so could do with finding it.

Yeh just found it in the tankbag, any chance i could get the keys Pritch as I need the fuel cap out the way to get the back fairing off to check the tank. Either drop them at my place or James lives up near you.

It wouldn't be worth doing a home repair would it? Paul hasn't done many k's on the Kato, wouldn't it be better to get it assessed, hope it gets written off and he gets a new one? After a big off like that there could be some hidden frame damage, it may never be the same?! Just my humble opinion or 2cents worth.

Looking at these two 690s side by side reminds me of Cyril Depres's engine swap on the marathon stage in the Dakar this year

Tiggs I don't think it took that much of a hit as it is just superficial plastics and checking prices on Boltons Website the cost of spares aren't as bad as you may think.
